Your Armory is one of the most important buildings. It allows you to arm and armor your troops improving their effectiveness in battle. Along with a tad bit of power, they add Weapons Adjustment, Weapons Bonus, and Defense Adjustment to your stats. Here is an explanation of what each Attribute does for your army or your enemy. You may want to read the Game Mechanics section first, to see how these effect each other.
Weapons Adjustment: WA adds to your attack roll. Simply put if you roll 5000 attack, and you have 1000 WA, you effectively roll a 6000 attack. This adjustment raises your chance to win an attack, as well as increase kills of your opponent
Defense Adjustment: DA deducts from your opponents attack roll. If your opponent rolls 5000, and you have 1000DA , their actual damage to you is 4000. DA from your fortification only works when you are defending. So when you attack, only DA from your armory items is going to reduce your opponents roll.
Weapons Bonus: WB is not as straightforward as the other two. WB reduces the amount of damage you have to roll in order to kill a unit. Typically we start killing units around 5,000 attack. Having 1000WB will not bring that threshold down to 4000, but it does lower it significantly. It's not a 1:1 ratio like WA and DA.
Now that you have the definitions, how do they really effect us? You will read in the LoL forums "Weapons help you defend, Armor helps you attack" and while it's a good generalization, it is not completely accurate. I believe it should be, "Weapons increase kills, Armor decreases losses."
When you have 20,000 power and you attack an opponent, you RANDOMLY roll anywhere between 10,000 and 20,000 attack. For simplicity we'll say you always roll 15,000. After your roll has been calculated, the game adds your WA, let's say 2000, so your actual roll at this moment is 17,000. Let's say you were attacking a opponent of 12,000 power, and he rolls 8,000, and had a WA of 1000, so his roll is now 9000.
Now your DA comes into effect. Your DA will reduce your opponents roll, and his/her DA will reduce your roll. Assuming your opponent hasn't armored at all, and just has the max fort (BAD IDEA) they will have 3125 DA, your roll has been reduced to 13,875. And let's say the DA from your armory is 2000, so your opponents roll is recalculated at 7,000. You are Victorious! I put this point here to illustrate that fortifications and towers do not really help you when you get attacked by players twice your power. And since DA from your fortifications doesn't work when you attack someone, you can see they are kind of useless at this stage of the game. Save your gold for troops!
In order of importance, these are the stats you should be worrying about, Power, DA, WB, WA. For a War Clan we really do need to focus on reducing our losses, and increasing the opponent's losses. Elves, Dark Elves can rack up lots of DA, while Fangs and Dracs are quite lacking in DA. But Fangs, and Dracs can accumulate WB quite easily. Great for suicide attacks.
